The wait is over! Registration is officially open for the live launch of the PROMINENCE Obesity Open Education Resource (OER) for physiotherapy.

We are delighted to announce the official launch of the PROMINENCE Open Education Resource (OER) for physiotherapy - we invite you to be part of it!

The PROMINENCE consortium is pleased to announce the publication of "Competencies of Health Professionals in Obesity Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation" in the TAMK Journal on 12 December 2025.

The PROMINENCE consortium is pleased to announce the publication of our new research paper, “Obesity competencies for healthcare professionals: a scoping review”, in BMC Medical Education, a peer-reviewed open access journal.

At the ENPHE Forum 2025, held 19‑20 September in Differdange (LUNEX University of Applied Sciences), Luxembourg, PROMINENCE Coordinator, Caitriona Cunningham of UCD, gathered physiotherapy educators from the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education network for a workshop on Obesity Education in Physiotherapy.

The second edition of the PROMINENCE Newsletter is now available.

The PROMINENCE consortium partners proudly participated in the 32nd European Congress on Obesity (ECO 2025), held in Málaga, Spain, which brought together over 4,000 participants from across Europe and beyond. As one of the leading scientific events dedicated to obesity research and treatment, ECO 2025 provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking.

Partners of the EU-funded PROMINENCE project gathered in Helsinki, Finland, for a productive transnational meeting hosted by Arcada University of Applied Sciences with Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) close collaboration in its planning.

PROMINENCE representatives from University College Dublin and the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy attended the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) 2025 Conference on 5 April 2025 in Dublin, Ireland, where they presented an overview of the PROMINENCE project (poster presentation).

Best Poster Prize awarded to Dr Kenneth Verboven of the Hasselt University representing PROMINENCE team at the Winter Obesity Symposium 2025 hosted by the Belgian Association for the Study of Obesity and the Belgian Section of Obesity and Metabolic Surgery of Royal Belgian Society for Surgery.
