The PROMINENCE consortium is pleased to announce the publication of "Competencies of Health Professionals in Obesity Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation" in the TAMK Journal
on 12 December 2025.

Authored by PROMINENCE consortium members, Pipsa Tuominen and Tiina Pystynen, this article highlights key competencies identified by the project team for addressing obesity prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. The publication emphasises that effective obesity management requires multidisciplinary expertise across multiple competency domains, which can be implemented in differing heath systems.

By presenting comprehensive, up-to-date competence profiles that reflect obesity's multifaceted and chronic nature, this work supports PROMINENCE's objective of developing a competency framework and advancing education and training frameworks for physiotherapists across Europe.
