PROMINENCE at ENPHE Forum 2025,
Differdange, Luxembourg
At the ENPHE Forum 2025, held 19‑20 September in Differdange (LUNEX University of Applied Sciences), Luxembourg, PROMINENCE Coordinator, Caitriona Cunningham of UCD, gathered physiotherapy educators from the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education network for a workshop on Obesity Education in Physiotherapy.

The workshop, with 25 participants, opened with a brief overview of the PROMINENCE project and then focused on sharing a draft of the PROMINENCE Obesity Competency Framework for Physiotherapists – intended to define essential competencies for physiotherapists working with people living with obesity. Participants were given an opportunity to give feedback on the framework.
As obesity is recognised as a growing public health challenge, physiotherapy curricula require relevant, evidence-based content for the entry-level workforce. Educators’ input during the forum will be used to refine and finalise the framework.

At the ENPHE Forum 2025, which gathered 260 participants from 27 countries, the PROMINENCE project was also represented through two posters: one providing an overview of the project, and another presenting the PROMINENCE Higher Education Institutions Survey, which explores current obesity-related content in entry-level physiotherapy curricula.
