PROMINENCE at European Congress on Obesity in Málaga, Spain

The PROMINENCE consortium partners proudly participated in the 32nd European Congress on Obesity (ECO 2025), held in Málaga, Spain, which brought together over 4,000 participants from across Europe and beyond. As one of the leading scientific events dedicated to obesity research and treatment, ECO 2025 provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking.

As part of its engagement, the PROMINENCE consortium submitted and presented three posters, showcasing recent findings and progress in its efforts to enhance obesity education and care for entry-level physiotherapists. The poster presentations included:

  • Promoting Obesity and Metabolic Rehabilitation INclusion in EU Entry-level Physiotherapy Curricula – The PROMINENCE Project,

  • Obesity Competencies for Healthcare Professional Education: A Scoping Review,

  • EU Higher Education Institution Survey on Obesity Education.

The PROMINENCE team’s participation at ECO 2025 reinforced the project's ongoing commitment to evidence-based education and professional development for physiotherapists, and a multidisciplinary European response to the obesity epidemic.
