Arcada University of Applied Sciences


Arcada University of Applied Sciences (Arcada UAS, Yrkeshogskkolan Arcada AB) located in Helsinki, Finland, is a multidisciplinary higher education institution with a Nordic and international profile offering education in Swedish and English on bachelor and master levels. Arcada has 3000 students representing more than 60 nationalities, of which a third in the field of social and health care, and 200 staff members. The physiotherapy education is a bachelor degree (210 ECTS).

Arcada is one of the leading international universities in Finland (applies to education on bachelor and master levels, research and employment for international students). Arcada's overall strategic aim is to build Nordic bridges to be globally relevant and to create smart, digital solutions for a dynamic working life. Arcada's RDI projects are organised in five research programmes with focus on sustainable and ethical digital (AI) solutions, health technology, compassion in working life, and rehabilitation to support participation in society and working life as well as circular economy, all with the human being in focus. The core of health and welfare research is health promotion and the aims are to solve questions concerning health behaviour, a better use of the digital possibilities in health care and rehabilitation, development of healthcare professionals’ further education, first responders' resilience in working life, health behaviour online, inclusion in working life for people with functional variation, person-centred approach in social services and healthcare and a sustainable working life.
